Isaiah 11:2

The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord .

The seven spirits of God refer to the Holy Spirit.The prophecy in Isaiah 11:2 is that the Messiah would be empowered not by seven individual spirits but by the One Holy Spirit, described in seven ways:

1) The Spirit of the LORD
2) The Spirit of wisdom
3) The Spirit of understanding
4) The Spirit of counsel
5) The Spirit of power
6) The Spirit of knowledge
7) The Spirit of the fear of the Lord

One Holy Spirit is mani-fold.The Holy Spirits who empowered Jesus Christ is also the one Holy Spirit who empowers the Church to live eternally today.The “seven spirits of God” in the book of Revelation are a reference to the Holy Spirit in the perfection of His manifold ministry.This means the Holy Spirit is manifold.The Holy Spirit plays a very critical role in  the life of the Church on earth and, to a lessor extent in the life of those who do not believe in Jesus Christ.

John 16:7

Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
