Before you continue this long journey of reading this lesson know that you, the reader, are a CHRISTIAN who believes in Jesus Christ.

Levitikus 23:22

‘When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field when you reap, nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the Lord your God.’ ”

When you reap, do not reap all the corners of your field. There are poor people and foreigners whom God blesses through your blessing. God blesses you so that through you Be can bless and fully care for the needy. All blessing is done by God. God blesses you, and through you God blesses the poor. Through blessing you God also provides finances to support the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.Through your offerings the Gospel is spread in the world.

Through your blessings the poor and the foreigner:

1.get  food

2.get clothing

3.get job opportunities

4.Through your blessings  God gives an orphan an opportunity to live and to  learn.   When your blessings from God have come, do not hold back. Pass on the wealth to those who have nothing to support themselves. . The little that God has given to you, give to others. “Give a little bit of what you have, you will gain more than you have.”Also give to the Gospel preaching services to help the unsaved get the Word of God.The Lord bless you for a purpose to give to others and to His work.

If you don’t give,  you are hindering God’s plan to support His work and to take care of the poor and the foreigners.Give to others the little that God has given you. “Give a little bit of what you have, you will gain more than you have.”

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

In both the Old and New Testaments, we see God’s desire for His children to show compassion to the poor and needy. Jesus said that the poor will always be with us.

Matthew 26:11

For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.

Jesus Christ also said that those who show kindness to the poor, the sick, and the needy through their offerings are actually serving Jehovah Himself . Those who care for the suffering will be duly rewarded.

Matthew 25:35–40

for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

There is no doubt that hunger and poverty are rampant in the world. God cares for the poor by blessing the blessed.

Hunger and poverty are evil and destroy people’s lives. God is with those who suffer.

As children of God, we cannot be indifferent to those in need, because what God expects of us regarding caring for the poor is contained throughout Scripture. The entire Bible is about people who are poor in spirit and in body.

And Moses instructed his people on how to treat the needy and the poor: “Give generously, and do not begrudge them, so that Jehovah your God may bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”

Deuteronomy 15:10

You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand.

Proverbs 14:31

He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, But he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.

The first part of Proverbs 14:31 says, “He who oppresses the poor despises his Maker.” Proverbs, in fact, is full of verses that clearly show that God loves the poor and is angry when His children neglect them.

Proverbs 17:5

He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker; He who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.

Feast of the Tabernacle

In the festivals of Israel they acted as “types” that prepared the way for us to understand the ultimate sacrifice and redemption given to all who believe in Jesus Christ. All the sacrifices in Israel foreshadowed the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the perfect sacrifice. If you fail to understand that Jesus Christ is the sacrifice that is meant to protect and save us so that we do not go to judgment because of our sins, you will be lost with the Bible on your hands. You need to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior first in order to receive the Holy Spirit, the Teacher of the Bible. The Holy Spirit will help you understand that the Bible is Jesus Christ, God and the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the Word of God . If we say we believe but Jesus Christ is not in our lives, where are we going to ? “We are wasting our time”.

He who is kind to the poor is grateful to Jehovah, and his work is returned to him.

We ,the Church, today  are making an offering of thanksgiving to God for through the death of  Jesus Christ  our sins are forgiven . Therefore, when we give, we should give happily and generously knowing that we are not going to die anymore. Our sins are forgiven .We will live forever with God. It is very important to know that even if we die, we will rise again. We should say that when it comes to giving, we are doing it for God.We give to our father and creator . Let us strive to give. Let us not withhold our offerings. We  give generously from the heart, rejoicing that we have eternal life because of the death of Jesus Christ who died for those who believe in him. We thank God that we will live with God forever.

In all three of Israel’s festivals, the most prominent thing is that there is giving. The children of Israel were taught that giving is to the Lord. When you give, you show that you respect the Lord your God. Israel was taught to give and offering was put into their hands as a law and they accepted the law and practised to give. Today, offering and giving are no longer put into our hands as a law. but the Holy Spirit writes the law of offering into our hearts. The law is not written with a pen but with the Holy Spirit. Therefore,no one should force another to give. We should give with joy.

2 Corinthians 3:1-6

Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others , epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart. And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

REMEMBER !!!

In the Old Testament, the pictures, events, and other things that happened were symbols of Jesus Christ and His role in saving the lives of all people. These pictures were not perfect. They represented what was there but not perfect. Finally, the perfect One came to the earth. His name is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ came as the perfect sacrifice. If you have Jesus Christ, you have everything. This means that the things that happened in the Old Testament are symbols that point (direct) to the fulfillment of the New Testament in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ has come into the world. Accept Jesus Christ. Trust in Him alone and you will be made perfect in spirit.

John 3 :16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
